Matthew Russell, founding partner of Russell & Hill – Injury & Accident Attorneys, was raised in a small rural town in Southeast Minnesota, where he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, Matt spent much of his youth exploring nature and playing various sports, fostering the discipline and teamwork that would later define his legal career.
Eager to expand his horizons, Matt pursued his undergraduate studies at Clemson University in South Carolina before earning his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2000. Shortly after graduation, he and his wife, Carolyn, relocated to the Maple Leaf neighborhood of North Seattle, where Matt established his first law office in Bellevue. His dedication to providing top-tier legal representation led him to partner with Jim Hill in 2005, founding Russell & Hill – Injury & Accident Attorneys, and expanding operations to Everett, WA.
Today, Matt works extensively in the Everett and Spokane offices, passionately and committedly serving clients across the region.
Beyond his legal practice, Matt is deeply invested in his community and family life. He and Carolyn reside in rural Snohomish County, where they are raising their four children. Matt takes great pride in coaching youth basketball, mentoring students through mock trial programs, and serving on the local school board. Additionally, he is an active board member of MercyWatch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the homeless population in Snohomish County.

He continues to refine his skills as an attorney, always striving to provide exceptional legal advocacy while upholding the values of integrity, service, and family.
