Motorcycle Accidents Rank More Fatal

During the Covid-19 pandemic, people searched for activities that don’t require seeing lots of people or hanging out in crowded spaces. Those with motorcycles were ready for this kind of pandemic—as if they need one more reason to ride! Even though traffic is not as bad as it used to be due to people working remotely, motorcycle accidents are still just as deadly. Our Spokane motorcycle accident attorneys at Russell & Hill – Injury & Accident Attorneys, are here to let you know that you are not alone, and we are here to advocate for the injured. No one should have to stress about medical bills or personal finances while recovering from a traumatic injury.

Washington Program To Help Motorcyclists

Motorcyclists have just as much right to be on the road as any other vehicle. In Washington, motorcycles only make up 3% of drivers on the roads, yet they make up 15% of fatalities. On average, around 75 riders will die on Washington roads, and roughly 19% will suffer from serious injuries. Because of this trend, an organization called “It’s a Fine Line” was created to reduce the number of fatalities to zero. The group is comprised of all-inclusive motorcycle riders who are committed to “target zero.” By building relationships with local and state government, medical staff, attorneys, and other agencies, the group hopes to create positive changes that will reduce the number of severe injuries and fatalities to zero.

This progressive group is doing its best to ensure the safety of others. However, plans like Target Zero take time and community effort to implement and sustain. While this group continues its good work, there are still accidents happening and injuries occurring.

Common Motorcycle Injuries

Because motorcycles are easier to knock over, the driver and riders are more susceptible to full-body injuries. Even though helmets help to reduce brain injury, it is not full proof. Many riders can still experience head or brain injury with a helmet on. Other common injuries are neck injuries, internal bleeding, internal bruising, road rash, broken legs and arms, broken ribs or neck, paralysis, or long-term disability. Depending on the kind of injury, someone could lose their job or be left unable to work again.

Motorcycle accidents are unique because, despite all the protective gear, injuries can still occur. If you or someone you love was injured in a motorcycle accident, you need an advocate by your side. Unfortunately, not everyone believes motorcyclists should be held to the same standard as a car accident, given that the act of riding a motorcycle is inherently dangerous. We believe in no such thing. If you are injured, you deserve justice and compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain, and suffering, and home accommodations, if needed. With our Spokane motorcycle accident attorneys by your side, we will do all the heavy lifting while you focus on your recovery.
