I was in a car accident and have had much difficulties communicating and settling with the other insurance company that I seeked a lawyer. I hired Dustin Burke to fight a vehicular assault charge (with DUI) I was facing. It was a very scary time needless to say, but Dustin made every effort to make sure that I was well informed of the situation and all possible outcomes. He was also very easy to get in touch with if I ever had any questions or concerns. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and positive. After only a couple of hearings he was able to strike a plea deal with the prosecutor and get my case down to a reckless driving which doesn’t happen very often. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME to read my review!!!! Nov 13, 2014 my boyfriend and I were on our way to the store. It’s 1:00 pm. All of a sudden a woman blows through a stop sign causing me to t-bone her Jeep Cherokee. I was in an 05 Hyundai Tuscon. No doubt my car was a total as the entire front end was demolished!!! Thankfully, they’re were witnesses and my boyfriend and I took tons of photo’s. It was 33° that day. It took an hour for police to respond and another hour for a tow truck. We’ve been shivering cold this entire time. Of course the adrenaline was pounding through our veins. We finally got home about 5 pm. What do we do now?? By the time we got home and collected, we had already notified my insurance and done the necessaries. The pain started to present itself. My neck was getting very bad as was my boyfriend’s. A very large bruise on my left leg was throbbing. That “uh oh” moment became really evident. Being that my Dad was an attorney, he was highly recommending to call an attorney NOW!!!! We called another attorney that was well known in our area. They basically blew us off. We called Russell&Hill. They had a representative at our house the next day. She was incredible!!! Although I had every possible amount of insurance imaginable, it became very clear that although I had the “best coverage,” and had been with the same company for almost 20 year’s, my best interest was not their concern. This wasn’t going to be an easy process. The other driver was 100% at fault!!! Definitely no doubt about that!! Although we had stellar insurance and I was NOT at fault, the best thing we would ever recommend, is GET LEGAL ADVICE!!! Call Russell&Hill!!!! Within 3 day’s of the accident we were both able to breathe a huge sigh of relief. Geico was the insurance of the idiot who flipped my world upside down. They were blowing up my phone. My own insurance was calling. Everyone was wanting me to settle, sign and go away. It felt so good to be able to say ” we have an attorney!!!” Here’s their name and number. 8 months later, I’m now facing neck surgery. I’ve been seeing my Dr / Chiropractor/ Physical therapy almost this entire time. I had surgery in July. Fortunately, Russell&Hill had settled my boyfriend’s claim in a very timely and very fair settlement. Lord knows my own insurance and Geico wanted to sweep him under the rug asap!!! He wasn’t hurt nearly as bad as what happened to me. The amount Russell&Hill got for him was triple the amount Geico was offering. INCREDIBLE!!! How can this system be so broken? 1 year later. This is not a fast process!!! Without going into boring details, I live on a very fixed income. I ended up having to purchase an 04 Ford Explorer. Runs like a champ, but definitely a huge step backwards from my prior vehicle. Although my case was what I thought a “slam dunk,” I quickly learned that there is no such thing. I knew my case was going to take a long time because of my surgery/ recovery etc. Honestly, this felt like it was never going to end. It seemed like forever!!!!!!!! Jessie was Matt Russell’s paralegal. I’m not sure there are words to describe just how amazing she has been through out this entire time. I tried to just set back and wait for the long (very long) arm of Justice to do its thing. ANYTIME I had a question or concern, Jessie was on it!!! I would hear from Matt on some of the bigger issues. Matt has a great way of explaining things without leaving your head spinning. I’d never been in an accident in my life. This entire process was totally unknown ground for us. Matt and Jessie always made sure I was informed about every step during this time. I kind of made it a regular thing to check in with Jessie. Yes, I probably might have been a pest at times? Although Jessie says I haven’t. It’s not because they were lacking in communication. It’s because I’ve never been through this and didn’t realize how difficult the other insurance company was going to try and make it. But Matt said to me ” this isn’t going to be a fast process. Geico is a BIG insurer and they’re going to pull out all the stops to give you the bare minimum!! We just aren’t going to let that happen!! We will take this as far as necessary!!” We are 2 years (almost to the day) and we’ve won our case at the FULL policy limit. Fortunately, I had under insured motorist protection. (I didn’t know this) But thankfully I did. If I hadn’t had Russell&Hill in my corner, I’m not sure my own insurance would have ever shared that information with me. Incidentally, my insurance company (Oregon Mutual) cancelled me. Even though I’d been a very loyal customer for 20 year’s. If you’re in an accident and you’ve got any pain, call Russell&Hill immediately!!!! You won’t be disappointed!!! I’m happy that I’m better and that this story ended with such amazing results!!!! Dean Swanson really is the best around. He was recommended by a family member and I could not have made a better choice for myself and my case. I was involved in a car accident a few years back and he truly makes you feel better about everything. I never had to call or email to see where the case was at, he is very good communicating to his clients. Most Patient and Polite and Professional Attorney 5.0 stars I hired Dustin to tackle a case involving my 17 year old son that was involved in trafficking of stolen property. My son made a very poor choice to assist a “friend” of his and it ended it up with major consequences. I did not know what to do or where to turn. Dustin was recommended through various sources so I contacted him immediately. He took the time to listen to me and my son and put all the pieces together. He represented us in a such a professional and positive manner that to this day I still commend him for. I was very scared and nervous at first and panicked a few times but he calmed my nerves with precise explanations and how the process would proceed. He and his firm even met with the prosecutor to discuss the possibility of reducing the sentence. They came to an agreement and now my son is no longer facing a felony charge as long as he obeys the court’s instructions (which I and his dad will see to!!). After hiring Dean Swanson to take on my case, I only regretted that I didn’t make the decision sooner. Almost 4 years ago, I was driving on I-5 and rear ended at a dead stop by an SUV moving at 60 MPH. It was a 4 car pile up which caused me to miss work for almost a year. When my car accident happened I didn’t think there was any reason to get an attorney. I waited a long time and did my best to deal with everything myself.
